My name is Parbati.  My father was an alcoholic, and an embarrassment to us and a problem for our village. One day he became ill and nothing could help him.  Then one day a Christian came to our village and told us about Jesus Christ. He prayed, and my father became well and left alcohol. Then my father became a leader in the village, and I could go to school, studying up to class 11.  A Group Representative for HELP suggested I teach a literacy class in our village. Now many ladies can read and write, write their names, and do simple math. I am so happy to teach them and learn with them.  I see new hope in the eyes of the ladies in my village as they realize they “can do!”
